What is the 25% roof rule in Florida?
If more than 25 percent of a roof section is repaired or replaced in any 12-month period, the whole roof section normally must be brought up to current code. One exception exists for a roof built, repaired or replaced under the 2007 Florida Building Code or later: the code upgrade then reaches just the work you are doing.
